Platinum and other metals are very scarce materials widely used in the energy transportation sector among sectors. Obtaining is becoming more difficult due to its scarcity on earth because of high amount water for extraction. In this regard, recycling platinum necessary sustainable technologies reaching a circular economy towards expensive rare metal. Conventional methods make use enormous amounts recovery, which makes them not attractive industry implementation. Furthermore, these processes generate toxic liquid streams gas wastes that must be further treated, do meet green environmental point view recycling. Consequently, new advanced arising aiming reach recovery rates while being environmentally friendly making huge reduction compared with conventional methods. review, summarized showing their limitations. promising approaches reviewed shed light about greener ways economy.
